The play of strangers with a new reading When reading Diab's text, George Ibrahim found that it is similar to what is happening in Palestine: land confiscation, house demolitions, settlement construction, attempts to obliterate identity, and heritage theft He conducted field research with academics in Palestinian cities and villages, especially among young people, about the meaning of cultural heritage. Based on this, Ibrahim prepared a new reading of the play, abbreviating or modifying some of the dialogues, adding new characters to suit the Palestinian reality. The work remains open to criticism and interpretation just like the original text
