In 1987 all cinemas have closed in Palestine as a result of the practices of the occupation during the first Palestinian Intifada. after 13 years of cinemas closure , was the opening of Al Kasaba Theatre and Cinematheque in 2000, in order to create Cultural awarness.
Now, Al Kasaba Theatre and Cinematheque is the only cinema in Palestine that screens 3 films per day. Al Kasaba Theatre and Cinematheque and during a short period of time has create a culture and a public cinema awarness, through the film weeks and film festivals that were hosted by Al Kasaba .
Al Kasaba Theatre and Cinematheque welcomes the cultural institutions, production houses ,distribution companies, and directors who want to screen their film to the Palestinian audience.
