Their wall will not impede us to know them
We are penetrating their wall, by giving our public the possibility to know their thoughts and their perception of us.
It’s an opportunity to be availed by our public in general, and most especially by experts of culture and studies, to know and study the Israeli cinema, to be aware about the concepts and modalities by which they’ve been presenting the Palestinian human being.
This Festival is not coming to build bridges of relationship with them, while they are occupying our land .. But it is a response to their practices: The separation Wall … detentions …. Assassinations …. It is a serious intent to penetrate one of their instruments, by which they have addressed the world .. which is an important tool that reflects the consciousness and the inner of the Israeli mentality, by means of word, image and characters.
The Festival comes in times they are building a Wall that hinder our movement and impede our geographical integration. We penetrate this awareness of concrete by studying the tools and methods of thinking that have been projected on cinema screens .. and open doors for investigation, studies and meditation.
The Festival is exposing various Israeli films that dealt with the Palestinian- Israeli conflict, through the projection of a number of films produced in different times that go parallel with the national struggle stages, since 1911 till 2002. It will also include discussion sessions and specialized symposiums in order to enrich the Festival by critics.
We would like to thank all who contributed in the success of this Festival, especially we would like to mention the Festival Committee Members:
Mr. George Khlaifi, Mr. Subhi Zobaidi, Mr. Khaled Farraj, Mr, Mustafa Shata and Ms. Najwa Mbarki. We also would like to thank the professors who contributed in the enrichment of this Festival by their symposiums.
We thank Konrad Institution for its valuable contribution in supporting the Festival.
Finally … This Festival is an opportunity for every cultured, artist, investigate and analyze.
We invite you to gain the opportunity .
