The Nightingale is the story of a plain little bird whose beautiful songs bring him great fame, even winning him an esteemed place in the king's court. Eventually, however, after saving the life of the king, the modest nightingale chooses to return to his peaceful life in the forest so the emperor purchased an artificial singing bird--thereby breaking the nightingale's heart.
